Hi all, I adopted four chickens last Wednesday and three of them are going to be a year old this spring and the other is about two years old. Well my chickens have continued to lay eggs even with the intro of the four to the flock. The four have not laid an egg. I did notice the day I adopted them there was an egg in the nesting box when I picked them up so one of the four is laying. I'm guessing it the older one of the four. I'm wondering how long for te transitional phase and for them to resume laying? I did notice the older one in the nesting box late yesterday and went back up to see if she had laid but no egg. I do supplement with chick feed during the winter to give them the extra protein needed. Any help would be great.

It could be a few weeks before they fully recover from the shock of relocation. Anything that upsets a hen is liable to interfere with laying.

Thanks, I wasn't sure. I guess when I have extra eggs I will know when they have settled in.
