I have two four week old ameraucana babies that need to transition outside to the baby playpen. Temps outside are in the mid 90s with heat indexes around 105ish. It's freakin' hot out there. Nighttime temps are in the low 80s. Hot, hot, hot.
The babies are under the heat lamp still in an effort to keep them from adjusting to the 76 indoor temp. They are feathered out (mostly). The other babies outside (a few days older than this lot) are doing okay. I'm just concerned because these two haven't been out there in it.

These temps are supposed to continue for another couple of weeks. I need to empty the brooder to get ready for the next round hatching. Any thoughts on how to transition these two?

I would move them out and keep a eye on them be ready to move back if needed the other are doing ok the 2 should be ok to.

It stinking hot here too I have 4 hens with chicks, and 2 pens of chicks the 2 pens are wire rabbit cages. I'm watching them close.
