Near the end of the summer me and my family will be moving 10 hours across the United States with around 20 chickens, 5 rabbits, 3 hamsters, 4 dogs, and at least 2 horses possibly 3. we are going to transport the chickens in dog crates and I was wondering if anyone had any advice for getting all of them there safely and healthy. how do you recommend giving feed and water and I would love to know if you had any other tips on transporting chickens. Also if anyone has transported horses long distances(just wondering we are going to talk to my stable owner about it too.) Do you guys have any tips about traveling long distances with any of the animals I've listed if you do please tell me how it went and any tips you have.

Electrolytes will help with the stress factor. They definitely need water, you could give it to them at a resting point.
ok yeah we will be giving them water... when would you recommend starting them on the electrolytes(we used to give it to them before but stopped.) and do you use any specific brand...we will be traveling from Tennessee to Arkansas

As for the horses, sometimes horses can be very picky about water, and refuse to drink, and that can lead to colic.

I had a cousin, who would mix koolaid in the water, and it covered the smell, she rodeoed and showed quite a bit. Did not add sugar - just a packet. She had them get used to the koolaid water at home, and then added it to strange water on the trip.
