I Hope this is the right place for this question. I have to 12 week old cockerels that I am trying to re home the only place I found is an hour or 2 away depending on traffic. I've done a little research and the best I've found is two separate cardboard boxes with air holes padding underneath hay inside and blanket on top keep out light but still allowing enough air in. How do you get that balance I'll? I'll be in an air conditioned car so I put him in the back seat or the back hatch area. In a small Kia Soul... alone, with the Roos. Worried.

Okay I might not be much help, but this so brings back memories of being 10 and driving all dang night with about 5 roosters in my lap in a dog crate, all inside my brothers regular cab Colorado truck 🤣 it was like 3 hours to this ladies place, turns out she only wanted 3 of the 5 so I rode all the way back home with them in my lap again!

And I also have a kia soul! Transported 2 mini nubian goats in mine just fine. Got to love the space in the back! I'm sure itll be more comfortable than my experience 🤣

They will be fine! Pet transport crates are best, and in a car, I'd use old towels for bedding, not straw or shavings. Either will be a mess in the car!
If you are traveling within the same state or province, all will be well. Crossing into another state may require testing and a health certificate, so check way ahead of time.

Almost forgot from the time we picked up the goats, you can get big moving blankets from walmart for practically nothing to put down in the back to keep the mess contained 😊 I picked up 2 I think for the entire back area and had extra.

Done, hardest part was catching them! Pictured is their new home. We now have peace (mostly) in the little flock. Still need to add some females!
