Transporting my Horse..how to cope?

I recommend Cox Equine Transport. They were the most reasonable and driver spent an hour helping to get a weanling settled into his new home. He wasn't expected to yet he took the time to make sure all was well before he drove off.

Cox is very good. But whomever you decide on, I would make sure they will accept a bale of the hay the horses are used to . No changing hay is not as bad as changing grain, but I had horses shipped across the country and shipped horses across the country. All of my shippers accepted and used the hay those horses were used to. Also, make sure they are fed at least 5 hours before they are loaded. Also make sure they have large roomy stalls, a camera in the trailer so the driver(s) /help can keep an eye on the horses is a must. I would prefer a horse arrive a little late due to the driver stopping and watering, checking horses etc . These are my experiences and preferences only. I do not claim to know everything. I have used independent haulers that did an excellent job and large "well known" haulers that held horses up for over a week.........
