i have 9 B.B. turkeys about ready for butcher. How would you recommend transporting them in my pickup to the butcher?(about an hour away). Also, they are almost 5 months old. Should I butcher now or give them one more month?

Do you think they would tolerate something like this:

I would feel bad doing that to my birds. We have treated them with love and respect since day one and would hate for their last day to be spent tied up:(
Peafowl travel very well like that, they are actually more relaxed than if I put them in a dog crate. But that's okay, I understand how you feel. :hugs

You are not going to like my answer but I have transported live adult turkeys by taping their legs together and then running some tape around the outside to hold their wings to their body using regular electrical tape. They laid calmly in the back of an open truck bed and were fine when I got them home.

I usually just toss them the keys & they drive themselves.
