When I transport rescued wild ducks, I used small pet [cat or dog] carriers. They are small enough to stop a frightened wild duck from fighting its container. THey are only moved locally -- short journeys in such a small contained.

When my son and I transport our duck(ling)s we use a deep plastic tub like the gray one in your photos. Little ones just sit in the bottom. Four of our adult ducks now like to stand up in the tub [it will only take 2 of them at a time] placed on the front passenger seat strapped there by the seatbelt, to see where they are going! But the three adult ducks that are not used to traveling, when they have had to be moved, have gone in the deep tub in the back of my van with a sheet over them so that they are not frightened by the changes outside the window.

From what I can see of your gray tub, it would be big enough for 3 but not all 4 ducklings. If you do not have a second plastic tub, you might get a big cardboard box and put two in the gray tub and two in the carboard box.

if your ducks are friendly you can just use a bin without a lid, and put it on the seat next to you! that’s what we do whenever we take the ducks anywhere in the car
Two of our muscovies would get out of an open tub -- they go in a tub, but with a sheet over the tub so that they sit down and don't try and get out.

Three of the pekins and one muscovy are well traveled on the front seat in a tub. One pekin goes in a tub covered with a sheet in the back as he is not a frequent traveler!!

yeah definitely wouldn’t recommend an open tub if your ducks aren’t used to travel, mine love going places though so are used to it by now lol. they also have a stroller we take them out in during summer!

I use a medium sized plastic carrier, like you would put a very large cat or 20lb dog in. I can fit 2 ducks in it and they can stand up and turn around easily. 3 wouldn't be comfortable. I put a folded towel on the bottom and a disposable dog potty pad on top. I cover the crate with a sheet to help prevent stress. They don't understand the fast movement and it frightens them. I don't provide food, or water, and our vet is about an hour away. They don't like it, but tolerate it.

One time my duck got out and flapped around the car. That didn't feel safe, plus we like to keep duck poop inside the crate. I'm sure other ducks stay inside their boxes, but mine don't!
