Trash Hut Hen House?! How Are You Creatively Sheltering Your Hens?

Like many backyard chicken amateurs, I was looking for a way to start inexpensively. Of many creative ways I've come up with for care of my hens (I started with 2 laying hens, and 4 chicks), the most unique is probably that I'm using an old trash can shelter for their hen house!

I made mine out of reclaimed everything - from the lumber to the metal siding and roofing. The girls don't see to mind.

I revamped an old pump house on my property, used cleaned oil drumms for nesting boxes and an old piece of melamine countertop to give them another level to sit by the window.
