Traveling with chickens? Help!

OMGoodness!! That was AWESOME!
Talented little guys, thanks for sharing

I travel back and forth with my flock twice a yr. We built boxes with deviders in them to fit into our trailer. We moved more than 20 this yr. Yes it did interfere with production for three days. After that they were fine. I fill the nest size boxes with a mix of wood chips and a small amt of cedar chips. They have water and scratch available. We travel 400 miles each time. A benefit is the coops get to air out for 4 or 5 months each. Good luck with yours. Oh, its the perfect time to dust them as you catch them to put into the trailer. A just in case they come in contact with something on the way. I also get my flocked checked by the agr. dept for their NPIP and A1 certification. It is illegal to go across state lines with poultry unless they are checked first. You could be ticketed.

Was unaware of the restrictions on crossing state lines. Will do additional research! Thank you
