treat cocciodosis

Too many antibiotics, especially for no reason, not only make sick humans - they make unthrifty and medicine-dependant chickens. Take advantage of the way that their avian systems were "designed" and get them super healthy from the start. They'll mature better, feather better, and generally be able to 'get over' more illnesses they'll naturally be exposed to in the future.

Absolutely correct! The only reason to even use Sulmet, IMO, is if there is no way to get Corid, in the event of an actual infection/infestation. If they do get cocci and are showing blood in the feces and are acting cold, if not treated at all, they will probably die. Some breeders allow that to happen so the birds they have will be resistant to the oocycsts. Most folks are not willing to lose chicks to something that is usually easily remedied by concentrated Amprolium (Corid), however.
