Built a couple perches yesterday for them in my run. Used new mildly treated 2x4 after rounding the edges a little. I'm not that worried about the limited time they spend perched on them.

Everything they can touch inside the coop is untreated.

What's consensus here for the outdoor perches?

My perches, inside and out, are both actually unprocessed, reused lumber from a bean trellis (beans don't climb 2x4s). The coop is pressure treated, though, to avoid mold headaches.

My brother says the newer way of pressure treating is much less toxic than the older, copper way. I don't know if that's a fact.

I did it backwards for the sake of human relations.

Sounds like I'll be fine, as will they. There
Thanks. Like to hear the pros confirm my gut.

Tomorrow we paint the castle.
