Treating 6 week old poults for lice?

I recently discovered that my birds have a case of poultry louse. I’ve never had to deal with lice before, only mites. I’m relatively confident treating my adult birds, but I’m worried about my 6 week old poults. How do I safely treat them for lice? I know they have them aswell, because they are with their mama and she has them pretty bad. I went to TSC, and bought some permethrin (powder and spray form. Both intended for chickens.), and a few other things. First things first I’m obviously going to clean out the coop, I’ve done that many times for mites. But I’m just worried about treating the poults, and how to ago about doing it. I really struggled to find anything about treating young birds. I managed to find 2 things about chicks, but both contradicted eachother.

I would use the dust on them and avoid their heads.
