I got her with two other hens and a roo of the same breed off island and they have been in a seperate run next to the main run for the last two to three weeks. The rest of the flock all seem healthy. Do I put her down and the other chickens that were in the same run as her to prevent the spread of her illness to the rest of my flock and ducks? I called our vet and they told me not to bring her in. Just to isolate her for 24 hours to see if she gets better or worse. yikes..

I have been treating her with an eye wash and giving her yogurt and apple cider vin in her water. I called the SPCA and they said if the hen dies to call them back so they can investicate the seller and his property. My neighbor bought eight "moulting" hens off of the same poultry breeder a week ago or so and they too are all sick now with breathing problems. Like a chicken cold of some kind. She also has them seperate from her flocks. Any addive of this situation? should I buy some form of antibiotic for my hen that is sick and the rest of the flock even if they are not showing any signs of the sickness? What do I do now? :(
Thank you.
