Treating scaly leg mites

Hi, I have a flock of about 35 birds. They are infected with scaly leg mites. I have been searching for a treatment but I keep coming up with conflicting information. The gasoline dip with A&D ointment seems to come from a reliable source, but catching and treating each individual bird is not possible for me. They are extremely skittish, hate to be handled and hard to reach on the roost. Is there a way to treat without handling every bird?

I treated almost 40 birds with ivermectin pour on for cattle, and the ones who had it the worse, I also vaseline the legs. I only noticed a handful of mine had them. But I treated everyone, since they all intermingle together.
