I have a hen that has been severely pecked by roosters. she has a pretty big hole in the back of her neck. I treated it with peroxide and put triple antibiotic ointment on it. what else should I do?

Separate her into a nice warm dry place. Possibly even put her in like a pet carrier in your house.
x2. Get her out of there. Provide her a nice private area safe from other chickens and predators. Keep the wound clean and observe for infection. Keep the flies out of the wound and provide her with a good quality diet.

Good luck with her!

Don't keep using peroxide. It is good for the first treatment, but peroxide will destroy healthy tissue as well. The triple antibiotic ointment will work well for a few days. After the wound stops being so wet and soft, you might switch over to blu-kote. It is an antibacterial and anti fungal as well. It will help dry the wound over and also hides the wound from other chickens seeing it. Try to get her back in the flock as soon as possible so she is not considered new again. But wait till the wound has healed over well enough.

You also need to figure out why she was being pecked so badly and by whom. You might need to do some separating, making more room or putting pinless peepers on the aggressive one for a while.

Good luck!
