Treating Wry Neck In Crested Duckling *EDITED TITLE*

This morning Qwackers was up and around eating and drinking. She took her meds easily but wasn't really up for being held this morning. She is loving the new food, it smells REALLY fishy so it must taste good to her.

I am noticing that she has her moments when moving around and walking are difficult for her. Then there are times that she stands up pretty straight and almost walks normally. I get my hopes up, but 5 minutes later she's back to being crooked. I do feel better knowing that she is able to straighten up, maybe it's exhurting for her and she gets tired quickly.

I will be working on their enclosure this weekend. I was planning a 12'X12' run for the chickens, and another one the same size for the ducks, each with their separate houses. Because Qwackers may be a special needs duck I don't want to take a chance of the chickens picking on her because she is different. But, someone tore down part of our fence and stole most of my lumber last weekend so I may have to scale back on their run

That is too bad some one stole your lumber, do you feel your ducks and chickens will be safe there when you move them there?
Happy to hear she like her new feed did you make it into mash? I look forward to daily updates and also to see when you get started on their houses and run. Hopefully it will warm up enough for them to be outside enjoying it all.

I can't imagine anyone stealing the chickens or ducks, but then again I thought my lumber was safe. Who the heck steals lumber?! Our business is in a really poor/high crime area and theft is common, but normally it is something that can be resold or scrapped. We have guard dogs, but it was raining the night they stole the lumber so the dogs were inside. From now on they'll be outside with somewhere to get out of the rain. I will have locks on the doors to the coop and run.

I did make her mash with it, it seems like she eats more when its wet than the dry stuff. I got the stink eye from the other 2 because they didn't get mash too.

I am considering trying the fermenting of the food once I get them in their permanent spot, and growing fodder when they get bigger. I wonder with the duckling food being so fishy will it ferment?

I have ordered a solar motion security light for the coop run areas. And yes, the dogs are going to be out every night from now on.

Good point, My house smells like an Italian restaurant most days since I have been making the FF I add garlic, oregano and once made up it smells really good. I tried my flock back on dry feed back last fall after having them on FF for a year, it was mutiny they really like the FF.I'm doing fodder inside too so my house has gone to the flock.

That's funny, they take over your house don't they!? Qwackers is doing well, better than yesterday. She went swimming with her buds a little while ago, I'm uploading the video now (it takes a few hours)

Aww that's so nice she was able to be with her buds . and yes they do take over the house, I had a Brahma hen in my house for 2 weeks back in Jan with bumble foot, She was such a good girl, slept in a dog crate at night but roamed around the house with the dogs during the day. She would make a good house chicken. lol Good thing our dh's are so tolerant.
