Our Rouen's have reached their 10 week mark and beside their store feed what other food can we provide for them daily? They do forge and get treats of kale and broccoli but wonder what else we can give them since they act starved when we give them their treat (or do they just go gaga over it all the time?) We are starting them on a poultry grower/finisher 15%. I am not sure when we can start corn grit or if we even can.

My duck loves peas! And cheese sticks, yes I peel them small and use for training purposes. She has learned to come! Also they love spinach in a bowl with water. Raw spinach...not cooked!I throw a couple handful in pond for fun!

If your ducks act hungry, don't ignore it. We finely chop up zucchini and squash and put it in a bucket to throw out for our ducks, they love it and don't act hungry afterwards. How much are you feeding your ducks? Only feed them what they eat in a day. If your feeder is empty by mid-day, you need to feed them more. If your feeder is still full by night, feed them less. You don't want to underfeed or overfeed your ducks.

We feed them 2 times a day (once at about 3 cups and once at 2 cups at mid day-when i get home from work, when i empty and refill their bowl as they get it wet or cause of bugs (usually only 1/2 cup left) and i make sure at night they have food as well tho it normally is untouched. Their dish is never fully empty. And with 2 leaves of kale they leave some behind and i toss in their pool.

I will have to try spinach as when i bring the kale out they know what is it and come running for it (even with a full food dish). Do u do cooked peas, raw peas?

Spinach is not good for Ducks or Chickens...It blocks the body from absorbing calcium....

Frozen peas...Watermelon, tomato, dry cat food , romain lettuce, cucumber and grapes....
Thanks for the heads up i will double check before giving them anything love these brats a lil too much already lol. Would of never thought dry cat food but might have raccoons and the strays around with that unless in a bowl and put up. Thanks for the other food ideas as well.
