Treats and stink?

Does feeding treats to the flock make their poop stink? Had the chickens for a couple weeks now and haven't had an issue u Tim my kids started giving more treats (meal worms, try s and cracked corn). I feed layena omega plus and clean the coop once a week.

Not that I've noticed... Just if you start giving them something besides the crumble or pellet feed you have to make sure they have access to grit as well, or they won't be able to digest the treats.

YES - when the kids gave lots of meal worms, all the girls got the brown squirts. Horrendous stench. Then they didn't want to help me clean. If you are the problem, you must help in the solution!

I rationed the meal worms. Nasty, nasty squirts.

Technically, giving the chicks a higher protein diet changes the output. Cut back on the meal worms.

That's kind of what happened. Kids and family went a bit crazy this weekend and holy cow! Cut waaay back today and this week lol there were a lot of what I would call the brown squirts! Lol better today though. Fresh coop.
