Hello! I am a new duck owner. I have 2 Pekins and 3 Mallards that are about 4 weeks old. I have heard many times that ducks like peas. I was wondering if it mattered if they were canned. I don't ever buy frozen peas but I have some canned peas and peas and carrots. My ducks haven't really bonded to me and prefer their own company. I would like to find a treat they will love to get on their good side

I also live in east Texas where vetch and buttercups are all in full bloom right now. Does this mean I can't free range?

I know vetch isn't good for them but didn't know butter cups weren't either. If you have canned peas I'd rinse them with water real good to get as much sodium off as you can , then offer them a small amount to see if they'll try them.Ducks pretty much know what to eat and what not too, but maybe if you have an over abundance of these 2 plants right now you might want to wait till they die back before letting your ducks free range.
