Treats for Bobs

Bread should be fine. My coturnix won't eat it.

Bread shouldn't hurt them. Be careful not to give large quantities, though. As with any treats, keep the amounts small. Otherwise you will throw off the balance of their diet (protein amounts, especially).

I feed my buttons Parakeet seed sometimes.

If they are eating anything other than crumbles then they should have a fine grit available to them.

In fact, even if they are eating only crumbles, it is good for them to have grit available. It certainly won't hurt them to have it around!

Any bird should have grit offered, really.

I give it to all of my birds, and I am getting some buttons soon. How fine does it have to be?

I mix Parakeet Grit in with their Gamebird crumbles. Boiled eggs and Scrambled eggs are also nice treats filled w/protein!
