My quail also love meal worms. They have been puzzled by earthworms (from my indoors vermi-composter). I don't know if they will figure it out. I am not willing to demonstrate for them, though!

Interesting. I tried to give my composting worms to 'my' wild blackbird in the summer when worms were scarce and he wouldn't touch them. I wonder if they taste unpleasant! My quail also love meal worms. They have been puzzled by earthworms (from my indoors vermi-composter). I don't know if they will figure it out. Mine go mad for meal worms and soldier fly larvae - I call them and they come running to be hand fed. I also scatter some around their aviary for them to find. They love cucumber and also eat small amounts of finely chopped pak choi, lettuce, asparagus tips, sweet corn, celery leaves, coriander, chard,.broccoli, cooked green beans and the odd piece of spaghetti for fun. They won't touch pumpkin cooked or uncooked , or eggs which is a shame. Great question. I will try some of the other suggestions other people have givenHi, are there treats that any fellow quailers give their flock? I've tried a few things but they seem to throw them about rather than eat them

Yeah, neither my chickens nor my quail wanted any part of pumpkin this year, cooked nor fresh! I thought it would be a big bird party, but yeh, nope.
You give me pause, Clarenquails on the thought that composting worms might taste worse than the earthworms in my yard. Hmmm. I have seen my chickens though, pass up earthworms from my yard, Perhaps they don't know what to do? didn't stop them from sampling all the little arthropods though.
How interesting. - yes I thought they would love it too after reading the posts of others! I grew a glut of them this year tooYeah, neither my chickens nor my quail wanted any part of pumpkin this year, cooked nor fresh! I thought it would be a big bird party, but yeh, nope.
