Yesterday I noticed one of my 6 week old pullets' legs were trembling a bit when she walked around. I've been observing her closely since yesterday and I've noticed her tail also seems to tremble a bit. She seems to lay down a lot, but she will get up to got eat and drink, and even when laying down she's very active and alert, pecking in the dirt around her and munching on little yummies. She still comes running when she sees that I have treats. Her feathers look a bit odd, like maybe she hasn't been preening. Almost like they're fluffed out a little bit. Her leg joints may be slightly swollen but I'm not completely sure. Also, her tail feathers are very ragged.

I'm not sure what breed she is, she's just white and came from the 'assorted pullets' bin at tractor supply. The other 13 chicks are completely normal.

The only other thing I can note is she is definitely at the bottom of the pecking order so far.

I will try to catch a video of her and post it here.

I have a chicken who trembled when she thought she would have to go into the run and get pecked by my other birds. Is your chicken scared of the other birds?

She could be showing early symptoms of coccidiosis, and you may want to purchase some Corid to treat them all at the same time. It may be a vitamin or electrolyte problem also, but cocci is easily treated with Corid (amprollium) 2 tsp of liquid into a gallon of water for 5 days. The powder is 1.5 tsp per gallon, and Ampromed is another brand of amprollium. If you have SaveAChick vitamin/electrolyte mix you may want to use that in the water until you can get Corid, but don't delay since chicks will eventually stop drinking with cocci.

The chicks are on medicated feed. None of the others show symptoms, I think maybe its a defect? Its only one leg that trembles occasionally, and it just seems to make her lay down a bit more often then the other chicks. It will be fine for awhile, and then as shes walking around it starts to tremble (it makes me think of trembling muscles after a lot of exercise) so she'll lay down for a bit. It's like...an old man leg, if that makes any sense at all, haha. She has a very good appetite and forages with the others, and drinks well.

No one seems to bother her for it, they just ignore her whenever she lays down.
