Someone went into one of my coops last night and left four ducklings. They still have their egg tooth. I don't even have ducks. I will do my best by them, but I'm not at all prepared to raise them. I had duckling before but they were hatched here by their mom.
I'm just shocked that someone would do that.

That is strange for sure.

I forgot to add a pic. My daughter in law thinks they look like Mallards. They have black feet. Any ideas?

I have no idea about the breed, but what a bizarre reverse burglary! At least they're adorable. Reminds me of hearing old timey stories about people leaving babies at the fire station...

How's it going so far with them? Do you have adult ducks that have any interest in raising them or are you brooding them yourself?

I’m brooding them myself. We don’t have ducks anymore.
They are cute I just wish I knew what kind they are and where they came from.

That is super bizarre. I would guess mallards as well just by looking at photos of mallard ducklings online but I could very well be wrong. Is there a pond nearby with mallards that they could've come from?

I hope there isn’t a mama duck looking for her babies somewhere! I wonder if ducks adopt abandoned ducklings like doe’s do abandoned fawns?

How bizarre. My guess is someone in your neighborhood saw you had chickens and maybe found abandoned ducklings and didn't know what else to do with them.

I've heard of people sneaking into chicken coops and leaving an unwanted rooster. That's just messed up!
