We get no T or Ter's because we are on a cul de sac with no sidewalks or street lights and we are not directly connected to a neighborhood. However, at the Halloween Party tomorrow we are serving brain cookies, pumpkin cookies, devil's food cupcakes, pumpkin cheese cake, mint chocolate cookies, poached garlic soup (keep the vampires away), mulled cider with shrunken heads (apples) and roll up sandwiches. That is the stuff we are making ourselves. Then there are the veggies, hummus, chips, dip, etc. We are passing out popcorn to eat while we watch the Thriller video before we dance with the zombies. We have a rule at our parties: If you leave the party hungry, it is your own darn fault.
We still have plenty of room for anyone in the area that wants to come.
We live in a rural area and get few or no trick or treaters. Every year I buy a few of those giant half pound candy bars to give out. I figure that if they make it out this far, it'll be worthwhile for them.
I tell the kids that knock on my door a quick lecture about Halloween safety...some listen and others don't...the ones that stay till the end get a light stick and a sticker...
My dad's a dentist...he'd knock my head off if he heard I'm encouraging candy in today's kids...(missing a few screws maybe?)
No Trick or Treaters here. We have to shut off the lites to keep them away. Either that or sedate the dog for the night. Someone knocks on the door after dark, she goes from Miss Mellow to Cujo before they can get off the step.

My son loves those! That is the one thing I miss about living in town. I used to look forward to handing out candy on Halloween. However I don't miss it enough to move!
We live in a safe neighborhood, lots of houses and lots of candy to give out...we'll see around 100 or more kids tonight!!!! I buy what our family likes for candy, so we have 100 grand bars, m&ms, reeces pb cups, snickers, heath bars and tootsie pops (a new addition this year!) This is about the ONLY time of the year there is candy in the house! It is a good thing!
Every year I buy candy and wait, and wait, and no one ever shows. I just don't live around kids, which suits me fine most of the time, but at Halloween...
