Tricky Situation: Double Yolker 1 live Twin, 1 Dead twin, Scrap, or keep?

I'm on day 7 of incubation.
I'm not even close to lockdown. Sorry, should've added that detail, I'm tired, & forget things.

How do you know on day 7 that one is dead and one is alive?

What do you have to lose by leaving it in there? It probably won't hatch but it doesn't hurt to try.

One embryo has good healthy veins, & the other is floating with a line of blood.

I'm worried about egg explosion due to the dead one. Yet I also don't want to kill a living embryo. I'm stuck in the middle of should I keep, or toss it?

Hmm I know very little about hatching eggs but with humans the embryo of a twin can absorb the other. If it's going to die it's going to die so my thoughts are let nature take its course until you're certain the living twin is no longer developing.

I would leave it unless it starts to smell or seep. It should do one or both before exploding. Give the living baby a chance..

If you have another empty incubator maybe move the twin egg to that one so if it explodes no big deal

My other incubator is still dirty, & it likes to try cooking unhatched chicks. I'm not using it anymore.
