I've tried everything, read tons of forums. 5 chickens. I've got a 4x6 coop about 28 inches high And a 8x12 run. 4 nesting boxes foot by foot. Wood shavings for bedding. And a ladder style roosting bar, lowest bar a foot, highest 20 inches. 2 are laying and the other 3 aren't. Chickens I got from a relative that knows they were laying. Tried different feeds and lighting.

How recently did you acquire the hens? A lot of times, it can take a couple weeks to a month for the hens to relax and begin laying eggs again. They are in a new environment and it stresses them out. If they don't feel safe and secure, they won't lay eggs until they do. :) A little more info on how long ago you got them would be helpful.

I've had them for 3months atleast and they are around a year and a half old. I also had a batch prior to this that I raised and couldn't get any of them to lay. I then gave them away and there laying eggs for them. The feed was varying from higher end feed to the egg maker from fleet farm. They guy I gave them to feeds them the same feed I was.

I have talked to a lot of people about this and everyone I talk to that has chickens says they should be laying for me. There's no possible way they can be hiding them and there not eating them. There just not laying.

What breed? I would perhaps try to take a step back and look at all possible factors? Is there anything in their environment that could be stressful? Changes? Barking dogs? Predators? Are they getting at least 12 hours of light? Could a pest be eating or stealing eggs?

Are they eating, pooping and sleeping normally? Check for parasites external and internal. If your hens started laying once moved can you think of any factors that are different in their new home vs at yours?

I have 2 dogs but they don't bother them all to often.maybe once a week they will stick there head up to the fence and make them run a few feet. No predators for sure. Buffs, barred, American. And a leg horn. My leghorn lays almost everyday. My Americana was but is now slowing down. I think parasite is unlikely because of the one I gave away was fine. My ceiling height is half as high as the guys I gave them to. Could they feel to confined?
