Trimming feathers

I have an 8 month old polish x frizzle (I believe). Can I trim his head feathers? He seems very visual impaired.

Yes you can. I trim my girl Poppy. She's the polish in my avatar picture. You just have to be gentle and careful that you don't poke their eye. I wrap my chicken in a towel to keep her immobile and usually have a partner trim the feathers while I hold.

You might try carefully cutting the longest feathers first, and see if any shorter ones will stand up again after the long ones are gone. It's much easier to cut more the next day, than to try and put some back

Just finished the trim and I can already tell how much happier he is now that he can see!

You did a great job. He will totally change with a haircut.
