Trimming fluff and cushions on cochin hens

I have no experience whatsoever with AI but we do have to trim our one good quality cochin pullet because otherwise we end up with balls of poop stuck to her!!! I hold her upside down while DH trims her, it is pretty much a hack job, but none of the others seem to be laughing at her and at least she doesn't reek! I need to learn how to bathe her next... waiting for warm weather and the time to read up about it. And even though it was a hack job she gave me some fertile eggs to hatch a few months ago. She has since quit laying of course...

i can AI a dog but i haven't tried a chicken yet, my birds seem to get the job doen LOL! a vet tech friend of mine says she can show me how to do it, i told her i'd pass for now LOL!

well, i checked some eggs i put in the incubator. about half were fertile, so i guess i better trim a little more....... wonder what the hens think?
