i have a roo from my roo buff orpington and white Cochin. my qustion is; why would he have a tripple comb at the back of the comb? It starts off single, then begins the triple comb. I have never seen or heard of this. any ideas?

I will go take some this morning and post them.

Without pictures, it sounds like a flaw called side sprigs.
They occur in some breeds like Marans.
There are also 2 breeds where that isn't a flaw but actually correct. Penedesencas and Empordanesas have what is called a Carnation or King's comb. It starts as a single large comb with 5 or 6 points and then opens up in the back with what appears to be a flower from behind.
