If you could have only 6 chickens and you wanted the most colorful egg assortment what would be your choice in breeds - you may mix it up

Thanks!

I thought I was going to go with this mix:

Easter Eggers - 2
Ameraucana - blue - 2
Salmon Faverolles - creamy - 2 Lay all winter
Wheaton Marans - dark brown - 2

Now I've got more chickens to look up

Only six? Hmmm....

An EE for green eggs
An Ameraucana for blue eggs
A welsummer for dark brown
A buff orp for light brown
A wyandotte for medium brown eggs
and A polish for white-ish eggs

But of course you are going to want more than 6 chickens.

2+2+2+2=6????????

If your truely going for the most colorfull egg assortment, why are you going for pairs since you should (other than the EE's) get about the same color of egg from same breed chicken?

Since your are already over the 6 add a couple campines or maybe a leghorn.

1 leghorn (white eggs) 1 cuckoo marans (dark eggs) 1 blue copper (dark eggs) marans 1 salmon faverolle (cream eggs) 1 blue wheaten Ameraucana (blue eggs) and one Oliver egger (marans X ameraucana)

I already have more that two of all of them and I am getting blue coppers next weekend. I am only missing olive egger and Marlin chaser might be able to fix that for me with maybe and extra marans hen
