I’ve heard of chicks getting there beak to far out of the egg so that they can no longer unzip from the inside out. I have 3 out of 5 hatched this morning and all seem to be doing great. I have an Australorp chick that pipped and started unzipping but I’m not sure if it’s beak is too far out of the shell for it unzip more. It is also unzipping almost diagonally across the egg, im not sure if that’s okay or not. The chick is moving its beak like it wants to keep pecking more shell but because it’s sticking out it’s not hitting any. I really do not want to intervene if I don’t have to, but all suggestions and advice are welcome. Thank you!

I'd give them about 24 hours to hatch themselves. If there's no improvement by then, you can choose to help if you want.
I've only ever helped one chick hatch and it did not grow up right, it was stunted and died after about 6 months. Sometimes there is a reason, I do feel like since this one came this far, it's probably okay to help, it could just be bad luck it zipped the wrong direction.

I just checked in and it’s almost out! I was just a little worried because he was the second one to pip but the fourth one to hatch. But I guess all of them are different! Thank you!

I'm glad to hear!! Watching chicks hatch is both rewarding and stressful!
