My adult 5 yr old RIR stopped laying about 4 months ago. Then started up again a few days ago. Her eggs are watery and the inside membrane comes out with the yolk.
So is it just taking her time to get back in the groove or do I worry about it?

Degradation in egg quality would not be unexpected with a bird her age. There really isn't anything to "worry" about as long as you are providing fresh, clean water and a diet that sufficiently supports her system you may see improvement or this may just be the nature of what she is going to produce now.

Thanks. I was thinking it had to be age because she has everything she needs. But I'm new to tending chickens. We lost another hen about the time this one stopped laying. They were friends and I thought Big Red was sad her friend died.
