Trouble with giving chicken antibotic shot...Chicken Died

We just gave our chicken an injection and it died right after. We did the shot where your suppose to in the breast and made sure we had no blood come back into syringe. We dont know what happened? We used Norocillian

I'm so sorry that your chicken died. Do you think the shot caused her death? After reading about the drug they do report that some animals can be allergic to it. Many people use procaine penicillin G in chickens every day with no problems. The procaine part is kind of controversial in chickens since medications with caine in the name are usually not used in them because of possible side effects. They are used at many veterinary schools on chickens in surgery however.
