Troubles at our Tractor Supply Company!

I stopped by TSC today and talked them into letting me take home 5 sickly chicks. They let me have them for free. One died before I could get it home and another died a little later. They we're given a proper burial. The other 3 are not doing well, but atleast I'm giving them a chance. The girl that waited on me was frustrated, I could tell they we're doing their best but really had no clue. They said alot of the chicks were drowning in the waterers. (I personally don't use the kind they were using for that reason.)
They really need some education on how to handle baby chicks if they are going to sell them.

I bought my chicks (37) from Rural King in Feb 2009. Other than the roosters that we culled only 1 has died and that was 2 months ago. I stop in from time to time and have filled the waterers b/c they had quite a bit of shavings in them but have never seen any sick or weak chicks, all looked to be very healthy. They did not overcrowd last year and at the end of Feb this year the tanks looked pretty decent. Chick waterers at both ends, at least 2 heat lamps, clean shavings. I applaud our Rural King, they seem to be doing a great job, but I will make a point of checking from time to time, even though I am not needing any more chicks right now. I try to steer away from that area b/c I have a baby chick buying weakness.
