Hi All

I have a splash true Ameraucana rooster from a breeder and am wondering what the chicks would look like if crossed with an ISA Brown hen.

The chicken calculator says all the chicks will be blue, am I reading that right? Also hoping that the pea comb, muffs and beard are dominant.

My Ameraucanas lay well, about 5 eggs a week each, and the ISA Browns even better so I'm curious to see what kind of layers these would be. I know they'll be EE but hoping they will look like blue Ameraucanas. My Welsummer roo x blue true Ameraucana hen looks like a blue Ameraucana to me and she should start laying very soon!

Anyone have pics of this cross chicks or grown birds? I'd love to see them, thanks!

Can you share some pics of your Wel / Am bird?
I'd like to see what she looks like.

Pictures of my prettiest girl? Why sure! Here she is, and the last one is her full sister. They're exactly 5 months old today.

If I could have blue feathered Easter Egger egg laying machines (my true splash Ameraucana roo x ISA Brown hen) that would be a very cool combo! I think they'd look similar to the blue girl above. She needs a name by the way... I don't name most of my birds, but she's unique and so is her sister :)

I have crossed Ameraucana "mutts" with ISA brown and got 100% Olive Eggers. Unfortunately, I don't recall which was the rooster. I had both types of roosters at the time, but the ISA rooster is "no longer with us." So I plan to cross Am Rooster with ISA hen this spring to see if I can re-create.

RSL x ameraucana should give you half blue chicks with some red leakage (assuming the ameraucana is gold-based rather than silver) and half white chicks with some red leakage. The white chicks will also probably have some blue spots.
