Hi, My chicks are 8 weeks old and out in the coop and run and loving it. I was wondering when I should change them over from chick grit to poultry grit? Any advice would be appreciated,[IMG]

chick grit is for up to 4 weeks

size#2 cherrystone grit is for 4-7 weeks

size #3 (regular size) is for over 7 weeks

But the size #3 has some smaller pieces. I used to buy all three sizes. You can use sand for the chick grit (size#1 cherrystone).

    Size #4 is for turkeys.

This info. is off the grit bag I have (except for the sand part LOL).

Oh I forgot to mention that if they are free ranging they can find their own grit unless you don't have some sharp gravel/stones in your soil.
