Aug 31, 2013 #2 ChickensAreSweet Heavenly Grains for Hens 9 Years Jun 8, 2010 15,100 752 398 Pacific NW- where the Douglas Firs grow chick grit is for up to 4 weeks size#2 cherrystone grit is for 4-7 weeks size #3 (regular size) is for over 7 weeks But the size #3 has some smaller pieces. I used to buy all three sizes. You can use sand for the chick grit (size#1 cherrystone). Size #4 is for turkeys. This info. is off the grit bag I have (except for the sand part LOL).
