True Splash Ameraucana Male or Female?

Puffy cheeks are the easiest way to tell.
That's how I could tell my ameraucana chicks from the other lookalikes
Doesn't help when none are facing the camera
The two on the bottom right (with the leaf) the one on the right appears to have cheek puffs (ameraucana), and the one on the left appears to be plain faced (australorp)
So... the Ams all appear to have lighter colored wings, while the BA are darker black, and some of them seem to hsve white wing tips already, a BA characteristic in juveniles.

I'm not sure. In that picture, one of the darkest chicks tucked under her chin appears to have puffy cheeks, as well.
I'm able to count 4 chicks that appear to have muffs, with varying amounts of light and dark.

It's so weird how a black feathered bird can start out with so much white on their chick down

They can be difficult to tell
Well, I wasn't paying attention since I thought mine were pullets. And just didn't look or take pictures to look back on...

They look big for only 2 months, though?
I'll lean cockerel.
Also, thinking back, i remember the breeder might have said something like the ameraucana was 3 months old, or “a bit older than 2 months”

Are you sure? That would be a bummer :(
I really can't tell. I just guessed since everybody else says pullet

Also, thinking back, i remember the breeder said the ameraucana was 3 months old
Oh, 3 months? If it's over 12 weeks, hard lean pullet, then.
My splash ameraucana pullet at 13 weeks looked vastly different from my black ameraucana "pullet" of the same age (who I should have noticed was a cockerel earlier. His hormones kicked in so fast. He's a good bird, though!)

Also, unrelated to the bird...
Is your user name what I'm thinking?

Should be around 3 months. I think it was something like “shes a bit older than 2 months but i doubt that would be a problem for you right?”

Resembles someone's name on the internet. They do a bicycle marathon sometimes. I was curious if it was related.

Picture examples of my black ameraucana cockerel & splash ameraucana pullet at 13-14 weeks
(Splash marans wanted to be in the pictures, i guess)

Hmm.. looks pretty similar to mine, comb and all.

Looks like my ameraucana is female!!:lol:

Not sure why her tail is kind of droopy though…
