I see now you are brand new to chickens. Beware of Craigslist ads. Almost everyone in the Houston area you see will bring disease in to your yard.
Chicken diseases are nasty and don't usually go away. You do not want to deal with them ever. People sell sick chickens all day long around here so please please think twice about ordering from a major hatchery.

Hello everyone,
My wife and I are new to raising chickens. We live near coastal Texas. I am almost finished building our chicken tractor. We are interested in Red Star pullers for their brown eggs and friendly temperament. We plan to start with a flock of 5-6. I have included a picture of our coop.
