Hello all,
Backyard chickens is a very fitting name for me right now. I came home today and heard what I thought was a very loud bird in my backyard as I listened it sounded like something in distress. I followed the sound and to my shock I found what I am pretty sure to be a baby chick(en), I approached it very carefully cause I did not want to scare it. It did nit move so I moved closer. Then I reached to pick it up and it jumped into my hand. I live in the university area and for the life of me cannot figure out how this 1 chick ended up in my fenced in back yard. Anyway I do not know what to do with it. I need a crash course. Right now it is sleeping in a box wrapped in a dish towel with a little bear on top of it, It was the only way I could get it to go to sleep other than laying on my chest. It's a cuddly little thing. By the way did I mention I know nothing about chicks? Please help
Thank You
