Has anyone used trunnels before? This coming winter, I'm thinking about letting them use a trunnel from the run to the vegetable garden to start working the soil some. Post your pictures. I'd love to see your ideas!

Yeah most I've seen is chicken wire or even just bird netting. I've had mine free ranging for over a year with only one loss and I'm not exactly sure it was a predator. He got stuck in the farmers fence next door. There was damage but not sure which came first. Anyway, they've started to move "around the house" more and are into my wifes flower gardens so I've been penning them more and letting them out at night...but if I could use this, I'd be able to let them roam more....maybe put my compost in there or something. My dogs are out enough that the animals steer clearI love the idea! How do you protect the birds? Looks like chicken wire was used.
It’s not 11am and I just listened to a pack of coyotes making a ton of noise not too far away (I live rural). Same thing happened yesterday morning. I came running out of the house worried they were after my chickens, that I had forgotten to turn in the fence. They are probably hunting calves.
Anyway I’d be scared to have only chicken wire protecting the hens unless I was with them every minute.
Is it pinned to the ground somehow?I just cut the fencing & zip tied it in circles & then zip tied them to each other. Works perfectly.
Yes, I used landscaping staples every couple of sections. Is it pinned to the ground somehow?
