Hello everyone. First off let me start by saying ive tried posting an inteoduction but my phone messed up aparently and didnt post it lol. I dont have chickens at this point in time but im not new to them. I used to help my family raise 20-30 RIR hens and a RIR rooster and i loved it but we did so many things that i look back on now and shake my head. Well i recently moved and am thinking of starting my own flock for eggs, meat, and breeding. Preferably 1 type but if i get better results by using a specific laying hen and meat hen then id be more than happy to do selective breeding of the two 2 roosters making sure to breed with same type. Anyways alot of planning and preperation to do. Looking at around a 10-15 bird flock and slowly expand with breeding into eventually around the 40-50 mark

It's great that you've joined the forum. I look forward to learning from you about raising chickens.

Hi again...apparently your 1st post did go through because I just welcomed you on it, lol. Anyway, nice to have you here!

Welcome to BYC! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

What better way to expend your chicken knowledge than by reading the articles in our learning center, asking questions and of course, learning from your own flock.
