Try to Take a Guess on THIS One!!! *Game*

Black Australorp x Rhode Island Reds

How did this bird come out with white feet.... All I can think of with white feet are Orpingtons, New Hampshire Reds...and Marans.

She HAD white feet earlier in her life...now they're more of a light slate color with white on the webbing inbetween the toes.

She's.....

Light Brahma cock x Black Australorp

Can ya believe it??? Her sister came out the EXACT same way! NO males came out that color...at all!

hahahaha...don't think so...LOL

The male Mr. Mom is apparently heterozygous for pea comb and leg feathering. Some males had feathering, some didn't.

His father, Diablo, was homozygous for both leg feathering and pea comb as all the offspring received leg feathers.

Mr. Mom's son, Raptor, was homozygous for leg feathering, but heterozygous for pea comb. Go figure??? LOL!

At least...that's what I'm chalking it up to!

Diablo, Mr. Mom and Raptor all had pea combs. The pea-comb "shrinks" in size with each generation. Hopefully I'll get a NICE pea comb. Raptor didn't make it past this summer...too wet for him. Shame too...I liked that bird...

All the males came out with silver hackles and saddle feathers...it was like a reverse columbian (or Dark Brahma) thing going on.

Females either came out all black, or were that orange-ish color.
