This was a free promo from the Amazon Vine program I just got invited into. (won't bore you but happy to explain it)

Last year I bought a Maticoopx incubator, Chinese made, and it was fantastic! Hands off the whole way, and a great hatch. This one is smaller but seems to have all the same tech, materials, and I think it should work great. It has a new egg "roller" vs the turners. It rolls the eggs ever 1, 1.5, or 2 hours, you choose. Preset to 2 hours.

Interestingly, this one is temp preset at 100.4 vs 99.5 for the Maticoopx, but both are forced air. So, I lowered it to 99.5. It does have one alarming feature. If it detects the humidity level too low (20%, I think) I beeper goes off. Imagine that in the night. It also has two small water bottles vs the typical one. It doesn't have any fancy regulation of humidity capability, just the vent. I got it too high with the water bottle and had to suck some out. So, that will be a thing to adjust to. The Maticoopx seemed to take in water slower....

So, I'm interested to see how the roller performs, and how well I can maintain a proper humidity. Here's a couple of pics from the original unpacking. I"ll get another with the eggs in....

Here's some recent pics. Just set it up about 45 min ago. As you can see I should not have plopped the water bottle right down on there. I've just sucked all the water out with a little wet vac, so it should drop quickly with the vent fully open. That is going to take some watching for a couple days.

This comes with two bottles and ports so you can get after it on the lockdown.

Vine is always shoving incubators at me in the "recommended for you" tab. The one that I did review I found was not accurate tempwise out of the box and I had to adjust it, but to its benefit it kept that temperature dead steady (unlike my infamous Hova-bator.)

OK, how do you get into this "vine" deal?
Its a bit of a tech/algorithm mystery, but I have a definite opinion.

A few weeks back I happened to order a few Amazon items that I was real impressed with, and one I was sorely disappointed with. I wrote out some very detailed, precise reviews of how and why these products were good, and the best way to see good results. Then, I detailed how horrific this car touchup paint was. I also had pictures of everything to document.

In particular, I've had loads of experience with dogs, ticks and every method under the sun to deal with both. I wrote about all the different avenues I'd pursued over the years, and conclude that the relatively inexpensive Spectra 3-D was (IMO) the best way to go. I included a study showing the ingredient in the product had been documented repeatedly to show the quickest tick drop-off rate, and overall kill rate.

In just a couple days, I got this invite for Vine from Amazon. So, I'd say its reviews, media, and clear and detailed text.

You don't. I didn't even know what it was until I got an invitation one day from Amazon. Best I can tell, it depends at least somewhat on the quality, maybe quantity, of product reviews you post to Amazon. I belong to the r/AmazonVine sub-reddit and I don't think anyone has managed to pin down exactly how you're "chosen", and of course Amazon aren't saying.

A few weeks back I happened to order a few Amazon items that I was highly impressed with, and one I was sorely disappointed with. I wrote out some very precise reviews of how and why these products were good, and the best way to see good results. Then, I detailed how horrific this car touchup paint was. In particular, for a tick product called Spectra-3D I mentioned I've had loads of experience with dogs, ticks and every method under the sun to deal with both. I wrote about all the different avenues I'd pursued over the years, and concluded that the relatively inexpensive Spectra 3-D was (IMO) the best way to go. I included a study showing the 3 ingredients in the product had been documented to show the quickest tick drop-off rate, and overall kill rate.

In just a couple days, I got this invite for Vine from Amazon. So, I'd say its reviews, media, and clear and detailed text, particularly describing why you hold a position.

I figured it had to do with posting a lot of reviews and posting that every product was awesome, lol.
I've noticed lately when I check reviews that most of the ones that highly recommend something are usually vine participants.
Was kind of hoping there would be a way to show reviews excluding them but not thinking that'll ever be something Amazon would want.
I really don't think I've ever seen a bad review from a vine member.

I very, very, rarely post a 5 star review. I'd say that a good quarter of mine are under 3 star with the rare 1 star. I don't hold back, I'll "call a fig a fig and a trough a trough" as I see it. And I will go back and amend a review if problems crop up down the line (I've had a couple go from 5 star to one star due to longevity issues.)

From the Gift Horse/Mouth Dept:

One thing I'm noticing after just weeks into the program is that you quickly realize that Amazon expects you to review all this stuff, and post photos, videos and in-depth commentary. Also, you're going to have to find storage or uses for these items.

So, for me, I've begun to select things I think I'll like, since I'm also going to be taxed on the value of the item. (Amazon will 1099 with the item's cost at year-end)

I've got refrigerator filters, tractor filters, outdoor lights, bird baths, things I'd already found I need. I ding a few things, and give average quality average ratings. Still, I'm in the honeymoon stage, and finding a bunch of this stuff nice and well made for the list cost.
