Did you let her raise the babies? When my girl went broody I let her hatch out and keep 2 babies. She stayed in the nestbox with them for 2 days, then started venturing out. The broody cycle breaks when they have chicks. When that hen was killed by a hawk, I gave the 2 babies to my last stubborn broody (put them under her after it was dark), she did exactly the same thing as the original mama, stayed in the box (although at this point, the babies were not interested in staying in), but it broke the broody cycle.
Before I decided to let babies hatch, I tried many different methods to break them, nothing worked. I think it has to run it's course, especially with broody types.
