There are some places that don't allow birds and some that do but likely only females, no males. I had to give up my birds when I joined the military. When I got out I moved to an area where birds weren't allowed (now they are). Since We bought acreage in another place where I could have my birds. There are organizations such as CLUCK (Citizens Lobbying for Urban Chicken Keeping). There are chapters around. There are also some good threads on BYC about the processes. Good luck and have fun...
