I have 2 amazing hens that have gone broody for me. I’m trying to figure out if I should let them hatch some of their own eggs or put my pure breeds under them. Moms are a cream legbar that have been laying sky blue eggs for me for the last year and a half. Dad would be a Swedish flower hen who lay light brown eggs. I think the babies from this pairing would be amazing! I also have some pure Swedish flower hens that are with him that I can take eggs from to put under my legbar girls.
My question is what color would the resulting hens eggs be? Would they be a type of olive egger? Would they be more an Easter egger? Would they lay brown eggs?
I ask because I recently saw a chart that said that a pairing of a brown egg layer with a blue egg layer would result in green eggs. These chicks would be for my own flock. I’m just curious if I should try it out or not.
I’ve included pictures of my rooster Sunny and an old picture of one of my cream legbar gals before she started laying.
