I have had that problem as well. I used "Mite spray" that I got from my local pet store. I used it on my broodies that just won't quit being broody. But it does work also they are not laying so I know it will be okay. But prior to that I used "Tobacco leaves" It is an Asian thing from the Philippines. What I did was soak the dried tobacco leaves and then shred them into the nests. The liquid I would strain into the empty spray bottle that the mite spray was in. Note I did clean it before I placed the liquid in there, shake before using it. Then I used that as a spray for the birds. It worked quite well. But I recommend it. It is hard to find just tobacco leaves so you have to search. Stores here on Maui carry but not like in the passed. So the might spray does well. Cause you can spray it on perches in crevices, birds, and nests. But this is just a suggestion. Hope it helps.
