Trying to get my ducks in a row- My ducklings are shipping MONDAY! :)

I am expecting 7 ducks,7 turkeys and 2 geese on Wednesday of next week. Our four goose eggs are scheduled to hatch on the same day. Me and my boys are sooooo excited. Oh yeah I almost forgot my 11 chicks are scheduled to be moved out side to the coop on the same day!!!! We are hoping to receive our roo tomorrow.
 
It is killing me to know they are sitting there at the post office. I even considered going and sitting the office so I could listen to them, but that would be an even worse form of torture I think. Or, what if I don't hear them at all... ugh. 2 more hours until I can go pick them up!!! :) I have the heat lamp on and water and food ready. But now that I turned the heat lamp on it isnt getting to 90 degrees at the very same height I had it at yesterday. So now I am recalibrating that baby. Is it super critical that it be right at 90? How did they survive in that box during the journey? I guess their body heat probably really helps?

Wow!! That is quite the delivery. :) How exciting! Did you get your rooster? What type of ducks are you getting?
 
I am hoping to get my rooster tomorrow. As for the ducks I do not know the breed just what ever they decide to send me from the hatchery. How are your new baby ducks doing?

Body heat, plus mine had a heat pack since there were only 4 of them.

I don't think it's super critical that it's right at 90. Mine was at 95 for a few days, and it didn't seem to bother them. Just watch for signs of overheating or chilling, and adjust accordingly. Mine ran around happy and playing, then all collapsed in a heap to sleep. If they'd all been huddled under the light, or trying to get as far from it as possible, I would have tried to re-adjust things.

Oh that is fun! Will be a fun surprise for sure. My post office doesn't open until 12:30. VERY small local office, with only one employee who happened to be working the morning shift at another office. The anticipation is killer. :)
