we had a hawk scare about 2 weeks ago and the gang has been on lockdown since.they have a 6x10ft coop and a 10x20t covered yard but i know they are bored.i tossed in some cabbage and a bale of oat hay.they seemed to have had fun for awhile anyway.

I KNOW they loved it. An armful of hay can keep them occupied for hours. My girls love it. Well done.

dinah! Your rooster in the first picture. What breed is he?

i know you meant the second picture.
that is a silver penciled plymouth rock from Wynette.

I have given my chickens some old wooden chairs, and tree branches to climb on. They seem to like having different places to jump up on and down from, and a place to perch for a while.
