trying to intro chicks to broody NOW

oh yeah, forgot to mention that we did take one egg (golf ball) away as we put the single chick in. And they are in the brooder now so we can easily raise them the way we've done before if Pearl still says NO!

nope. she wouldn't have it. And, in fact, the day after we tried a second time she suddenly decided being broody wasn't her thing anymore. So, maybe we can try again next time we get chicks (except we can't predict that timing of a broody just when chicks come.) I wish we could have made it work but she was going to hurt them. And they are thriving in the brooder (the bigger one as they are, of course, huge now.)
